The Storyteller's Stage

The terrible thing about following awesome shit--say a particular webcomic or a really good piece of fanfiction--is that after I read something SO AWESOME MY BRAIN EXPLODES I get the low afterwards.

For awhile it is like I am vibrating from the awesome. I have been infused by a part of how fucking ungodly awesome this shit is.

Then I hit this wall and suddenly I feel so depressed because it is so awesome I don't think I could ever make something that awesome and nothing can assure me that this is ok.

For some reason it's just a death spiral into inadequacy and I just have to pick myself back up and keep on going because if I let it win then I'd never get anything done.

God damn it world, why are you so full of amazing?

Don't answer that, I'm actually ok w/ your amazing. I just...you make me feel so inadequate world.

Well, I'm thoroughly fucking depressed now.

Yeah, sure, I'm a month late and a dollar short but. Fuck. :[ Just found out that Brian Jacques, author of the amazing Redwall series died back in February. That book series was such a huge part of my childhood, and even my life now. I own every single book, and even read his Castaways of the Flying Dutchmen books.

Just. Fuck.

Gonna have to remember to buy the last book of his that he finished when it comes out. Bluh bluh bluh.

Just a heads up...I will be posting a fic on my birthday as usual, though many of you, my fabulous readers, might not be interested. It won't be for DC/MK.

Hello, my dear followers, I come to you with a very important request. My dear mancha_sama and I have embarked on another collaborative writing project and we need YOU. Well, maybe not you, you, but a couple of you.

What we need:

Someone willing and able to give in depth feedback on readability, plot, characterization, continuity, and such. We're not too interested in grammar/typo feedback at this point, but if you find something you want to comment on anyway, feel free. Concrit is fine with us.

The Specifics:

Fandom: Final Fantasy VII
Spoiler Alert: Storyline makes heavy use of Before Crisis, Crisis Core, and Advent Children Complete. May also eventually include references to Dirge of Cerberus.
Pairings: Established Zack/Aerith, Eventual Sephiroth/Cloud, Possible Genesis/Vincent
Genre: Time Travel, Action/Adventure, Humor, Angst, Drama, Tragedy, Romance somewhere in there.


Current Completion Level:

Currently there are nine chapters done, and entering the first stage of editing. Your reading would fall under “stage two” of the editing process. At this point in time we have a sum total of twenty-eight chapters planned, although that is nowhere near the end of the story.

Time Frame:

As we're doing this storyline mostly for fun rather than “profit” its slow going, so you won't have to be reading over a chapter every few days or something. It'll be a relaxed, slow process, and we won't be ready to post this story for awhile yet, but we'd like to get some fresh eyes in for the editing process.



We're looking for one or two people who are interested in performing this “beta” reading for us, so if you're interested please post here so that we may enter a dialogue with you, or something. :)

I am currently doing research for an original writing. This is an interesting experience, because while I research for my fanfics, I certainly don't go through the same effort I am now.

-stares at the pile of books on the subject nearby, then at the notebook she's filling with notes.-

At least it's a subject I'm interested in...

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I'm alive, I'm not dead, I'm just not really writing fic at the moment and I apologize for that. I will come back to it eventually, but right now I just can't pull together the will to work on my DC fic-- the angst is just... not being felt right now, and my mind is a million miles away.
