Well, I'm thoroughly fucking depressed now.

Yeah, sure, I'm a month late and a dollar short but. Fuck. :[ Just found out that Brian Jacques, author of the amazing Redwall series died back in February. That book series was such a huge part of my childhood, and even my life now. I own every single book, and even read his Castaways of the Flying Dutchmen books.

Just. Fuck.

Gonna have to remember to buy the last book of his that he finished when it comes out. Bluh bluh bluh.

Hug. I know how you feel. I found out yesterday that my favorite author, Diana Wynne Jones died saturday. I looked up at my bookcase where Howl's Moving Castle is enshrined and felt depressed that the person who influenced me so much had lost the fight with cancer.

Seriously. :[ Mr. Jacques was a huge inspiration for me when it came to writing. His highly detailed style and magnificent world building have always been something I aspire to.

My friend told me about Diana Wynne Jones when I was telling her about Jacques. I haven't read her book, though I keep meaning to. It seems we've lost a lot of good authors recently. :/

Sad, but true. All we can do is keep their writing alive. Keep reading their work and speading it to the next generation of readers.

*huggle* Though I found out about his death quite a while ago, it still makes me really sad... Redwall had a great influence on my childhood and even now. By reading Redwall, I learned to love fantasy books, squirrels became my favourite animals, and when they didn't translate the books after The Long Patrol to Finnish, I had to learn to read English better so I could read them! I also joined my first role-play (Dibbuns Against Bedtime; though I've sadly been inactive for a few years) because of Redwall :3
BJ was a great author and I'll miss him a lot.

...what, Wynne Jones has died too? *...sniffle* DD':

Oh man, my very first RP experience was with Redwall too! It was in this chatroom on the official Redwall site or something, and another one that was for vermin characters. ;o;

So much nostalgia, man.
