the whole 'damsel in distress' syndrome they all seem to suffer from?
the guaranteed inexplicable connection to the canon characters
the inexplicable manifestation of super super-powers, usually totally impossible in the verse they're in.
The fact that /everyone/ loves them or comes to eventually. If they don't they tend to die painful and sudden deaths
