Well, to be fair, his words for Hakuba and Conan were completely meant in reference to Kid. So, it wasn't so much for them, in as much as for Kid in a round about way.
I'm glad you think it was so well done, it's certainly one of those hard topics to depict realistically, after all, I've never died. XD
